What month do you apply to residency?
Ideally, you’ll have your application materials well under way by the time the residency application services open — which can be as early as the summer before your final year. At the latest, your application must be completed and submitted to residency programs by early fall.
What time is the residency match today?
Match Week for the Main Residency Match® takes place the third week in March. It is the period of time beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET on Monday and ending at 12:00 p.m. ET on Friday when applicants and programs learn the results of the Match.
When can you submit eras?
Applicants may begin submitting applications to programs at 9 a.m. ET. Residency programs may begin reviewing applications and MSPEs at 9 a.m. ET. ERAS 2022 season ends at 5 p.m. ET.
How many medical students do not match?

Is it better to submit eras early?
Early bird submission! You can submit to programs early to avoid technical glitches or for peace of mind. ERAS created this window period to avoid website crashes. Do NOT feel pressured to submit early because you will NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE OR EDIT your application after submission.

Does match rate 2021?
Non-U.S. citizen IMGs saw the largest decline, from 61.1 percent in 2020 to 54.8 percent in 2021. The percent of U.S. DO graduates matched to PGY-1 positions also increased, from 43.1 percent to 44.3 percent.
What matters most for residency?
As expected, USMLE/COMLEX Step 1 is the most important factor for getting a residency interview with 93% of program directors saying that it’s an important factor. Given the variability amongst medical schools in how they grade their students, Step 1 offers the most objective way to measure a student’s knowledge base.
Can residency programs see where you applied?
If you applied to ERAS in years past, the only way programs will know this is if you applied to their program directly and they happen to recognize your name and application. If you interviewed at a certain program, it is of course far more likely that they will understand that you are a residency reapplicant.

Until when can I buy eras token?
You only need one (1) electronic token per season. You can use your token to apply to as many specialties as you want. Be sure to print out the confirmation page for your records; this is your receipt. The ERAS 2022 token expires on May 31, 2022.
Do Matches rate 2020?
This year’s match rate of 93.7% has remained consistent with the numbers that have been posted in past years. There was a slight increase—to 5,167—in U.S. citizen international medical school students and graduates (IMGs) who submitted program choices for the 2020 cycle.
