Do you need a CRA my account to NETFILE?

Though not required to file a return, CRA’s My Account service provides benefits that streamline the tax process. You can check the status of your return, your eligibility for income-related benefits and RRSP limits, and you can sign up for direct deposit of funds such as tax refunds and GST rebates.

Can I NETFILE if my CRA account is locked?

You must contact the CRA using the form provided or call them on their general enquiries line. The CRA agent should be able to unlock your return. Once your return is unlocked please email us (Wealthsimple Tax) with the specific NETFILE error so we can help you fix it before you attempt to submit again.
