Do I have to file a California LLC return?

Every year, your California LLC will have to file an LLC Return of Income (Form 568). This filing will take into account your Franchise Tax and LLC Fee, although you will not pay those taxes here. Think of the Form 568 as a master tax form where all of your LLC’s income, taxes, overages, withholding, etc.

Why do I have to file form 568?

An LLC must file Form 568, pay any nonconsenting members’ tax, and pay any amount of the LLC fee owed that was not paid as an estimated fee with form FTB 3536, by the 15th day of the 4th month (fiscal year) or April 15, 2014 (calendar year), following the close of its taxable year.

How to file Form 568 for LLC with no profit?

There were a few startup expenses that we deducted on our tax return but otherwise the LLC made no profit (inside or outside of CA). There seems to be quite a lot of questions on form 568, I was wondering if anyone could provide some guidance as to how to fill this out in our simple case.

Do you know if the TurboTax business version of the 568?

Thanks for your response. Do you know if the TurboTax Business version helps you fill out the 568 form by helping you properly answering the questions for they are worded very vague and unclear on what they are actually asking you for and I know if we answer the questions incorrectly they can slap on extra fees for us?
