Do I get a residence permit if I marry a German?

Individuals married to German citizens may be able to apply for a Permanent Residence Permit after three years.

There is no single German residence permit through marriage, but this means that you will get your permit to stay in the country for family union purposes. Same-sex couples are also accepted in Germany and are eligible to obtain residence permits after they get married.
