Part of the job of entrepreneurs is to collect sales taxes on behalf of the government. Most businesses in Canada have to collect the goods and services tax (GST) or the harmonized sales tax (HST). (There is no provincial sales tax in Alberta or in the three territories.)
Do dropshippers pay sales tax?
In the U.S., all sellers (whether retailers or drop shippers) are required to collect sales tax if they have sales tax nexus in the state to which the item ships. This means that you, as the buyer from your third-party vendor, may be responsible for paying sales tax if your vendor has nexus in your state.
How to charge your customers the correct sales tax rates?
In these states, you charge sales tax based on the rate at your customer’s location (that is, their “ship to” address). This also most often the case for remote sellers in the states when you have nexus. More on this later. Example: You operate your business out your warehouse in Stamford, NY, and sell an item to someone in Buffalo, NY.

Are there any states that do not charge sales tax?
According to Sales Tax Institute, each state determines if they will charge sales tax. Local governments are often also given this opportunity. Currently, 45 states and Washington D.C. charge sales tax, and five states are exempt: Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon.
