Can my S-Corp own my car?

Vehicle Titled In Corporation’s Name. Thus, your S-Corp may claim depreciation, fuel expenses, oil expenses, repairs, insurance, and so forth. When the car is owned in the corporation’s name, it is not allowed to deduct mileage, just the actual expenses incurred for it’s use in business.

To write off your S Corp mileage, your company should reimburse you for the business use of your personal car. The vehicle is registered under your name and you pay all expenses such as gas, repairs, and insurance from your personal account.

Can an S-Corp deduct a car?

Even though interest on a car loan appears in Section 163 of the tax code as a deductible expense, you cannot receive tax-free reimbursement from the S-Corp for this expense. However, the S-Corp can still deduct the expense, and you can receive reimbursement for loan interest, but it must be done as a wage payment.
