Good news: In some situations, you can take a gap in studies and still be considered ‘actively pursuing studies’. Can an international student take a leave of absence?

No work limits apply during college or university breaks. Taking a Leave of Absence means taking a break from study while remaining enrolled. It is also called deferring. International students cannot take a Leave of Absence unless there are compassionate or compelling circumstances.
